Is distortion Copenhagen free?

Many years ago i was in Copenhagen Distortion. It was a fantastic party with lots of beer.

Now I have heard rumors that they want to target more older people, pensioners and families with children. Using a KI translate service I translated the Danish text on the official site and saw a little confirmation of the rumor.

One of the city's most exciting dance music parties arrives in Copenhagen for Distortion Festival 2023 this May. The festival brings music and dancing to the streets for bloc parties, raves, and more! With plenty of free events to enjoy and hopefully some sunny weather, this is an unmissable party for anyone who loves dance music. Think of it as streets filled with revellers, a little bit of organised chaos (one of Distortion's themes) and some booty shaking music from Danish and international artists. With live music and DJs playing in the day, you can also enjoy the weekend parties at Distortion Ø late through the night (tickets needed!)

The festival includes various programmes including the street parties, Distortion Ø weekend night raves, and Distortion X. There is even a dog party at HundeDistortion2, part of ActionHygge! Where is distortion 2023?

The Distortion Festival consists of three parts—Distortion Club, Distortion Ø, and Street Parties. It takes over the Danish capital for almost a week in many shapes and forms. About 20 street parties take place in the Nørrebro and Vesterbro districts. The week ends with the Distortion Ø on 6-10 stages located in an unusual place—on an industrial island in the Copenhagen harbour. The festival also has a large camping area located on the island of Refshaleøen, just 200 meters from the stage and a few minutes from a bus stop. Distortion chill-out area is located across from the famous Little Mermaid. Visitors can enjoy great sunset and sunrise.

Distortion Club takes place in nightclubs as well as unusual temporary locations, like swimming pools, museums, the Royal Theatre, and warehouses. It's focus is modern club music. Hot Chip, Simian Mobile Disco, Sebastien Tellier, Diplo & M.I.A. have played at Distortion Club and later became international stars.

Rather than taking place in a single location with a few stages scattered about, it brings together 300 concerts and DJ sets in three main locations: Nørrebro, Vesterbro and Refshaleøen. There’s Distortion ø, which is a rave arena that last for two days in Refshaleøen in  Copenhagen's Harbour; Distortion Club, which takes place in assorted nightclubs on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and the infamous Vesterbro Street Parties â€“ which take place during the day and are free!
